  1. What’s kind of interesting is how relatively effective Danny Mwanga was. I didn’t realize it at the time, but the man converted a hell of a lot of his shots.

I guess what would be interesting to see (in comparison to this) would be a league-average for shots-on-target. Just looking at this my thought is “wow, we seem to have a hard time putting shots on frame…” but I wonder if we’re that much worse than average? Dammit, now you’re making me look this up. Off to find out…

    1. Do check back in. I was only compiling this list as fodder for my look at who gets cut in attack, so I wasn’t think about it in a league-wide context.

  2. What about a world class comparo including messi/ronaldo/zlatan? I like how the “shape” of the data is to highlight shots per 90 which to me is the most important barometer of an offense. good stuff here as always

  3. What jumps out at me from this table is how effective Keane is. Damn near half his shots are on frame and of that half he converts more than half. Doesn’t make me hate the sunofabitch any less, but while hating on him I have to admit the man can play. Dammit.

    1. Aye, I’m not a big fan of his either, but there’s a reason why he’s carved out a career playing for a load of good clubs at a high level. The guy is a natural finisher, and with the likes of Donovan lining up chances, the quality of chance should be generally pretty high.
